In Flight

It was a hot summer day and I was running through the house. All of 6 or 7 years old. I was taller than most girls for my age, all legs. This day I was on a mission, I had earned $.50.

Jack’s Moon cookies were the only thing on my mind 2 for a $.01.

Ten cents worth of cookies and a coke. My life in my mind, was good.

We had steps on the front porch, and it was my habit to leap the last two steps “take flight” and land on the ground. Once I hit the ground , I was gone.

This one particular day one of my older sisters yelled to me and said, “Jennifer don’t jump those steps “. What !!? I thought, who is she to interrupt my style. I looked at her and licked OUT my entire tongue. Then turned and proceeded to leap!…..WHAM…tooth knocked out.. .. OUCH… I went to an emergency dental visit. The bleeding was stopped and the tooth was not permanent, so all the dust settled. My first thought as a child, she( my sister) made me fall. Why if she had just left me alone, everything would have been alright. It felt good to blame her, and that’s what I did.

Truth. .. she saw a danger, I did not see.

The point of my story?

There is a book written by men inspired by The Living God called the Bible. This book was written to help the children of God.

You see, we like to jump the steps (free-will) in our own way. Who is God to tell us different? So we lick out our tongue, turn and leap… wham!

After the fall, we like children don’t want to own up to any responsibility for our actions.. we place blame and become slow to own up to our responsibility or worst some never own up to responsibility and we blame….. we even blame God…(it’s his fault)

Truth: The Bible is God’s guide to keep us safe, happy, prosperous in our soul and finances and in death through faith we continue to live.. the word of God is not to hinder, harm or hurt and can guide us “” in flight””” to land on sure footing….Jen Snow
